Tuesday August 1/99
The Weather is lovely the Water calm at 2 pm we sighted Land and about 6 pm we anchored at the Quarentine Station where we excemed by the Board of Health Doktor we only had a few cases of Sicknes and the Health in general was good we layed in the Bay all Night and on account of it their was no cheering done in respect of our dead Colonel

 

The weather is lovely, the water calm. At 2 p.m. we sighted land and about 6 p.m. we were anchored at the quarantine station where we were examined by the Board of Health doctor. We only had a few cases of sickness and the health in general was good. We laid in the bay all night and on account of it there was no cheering done in respect of our dead colonel.
