Monday July 17/99
The Weather is fine but the Sea is verry rough many of us are sea sick

Tuesday July 18/99
the Weather is about the same we have but verry little to do during the Night we recieved the News that the Colonel had died at 11.40.

Wednesday July 19/99
Weather is lovely there isnt much change on our Voyage our Grub
is pretty fair but we dont get quiet anough in the afternoon we recieved the Remains of the Colonel who had been embalmed in the Ver noon and layed in a nest Casket our Flag is floating at Helf mast for 3 days and a Guard of Honor consisting of one Sergt 1 Corporal and 3 privates is placed over him the Casset is placed on the Herrican Deck

Thursday July 20/99
The Weather is clear but the Sea is rough and many are taken seasick
