The weather is lovely and we all have shore leave until 6 p.m. I took in the sights of the city and bought several things including some lovely paintings. In the afternoon, at 2 p.m., the Yokohama Case ball team played our team (10th Regiment) on their grounds which are the nicest I have ever seen. All our boys attended. All refreshments and lunch were free for soldiers. They played nine innings 15 to 5 in favor of the Pennsylvania Regiment. The game lasted two and a half hours and was very interesting. We all departed after giving three cheers for the Yokohama club. The Hancock left at 9 a.m. During our stay here we put on more coal, ice and fresh meat. At 9 p.m. every man was on board the ship.
